MRO ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION
The 40-question online certification examination - offered to non-physician staff members who have completed
appropriate MRO Assistant Training and have submitted application to MROCC - consists of multiple choice items,
distributed by content area according to the established MROA Competencies, and intermingles recall (recognition),
simple interpretation (analysis), and problem solving (evaluation) type questions.
The examination must be taken within 12 months of registering. Examinees have 30 days from their first log on to
complete the online open-book examination. Examinees may log on and off at-will prior to submitting the exam for
scoring. An immediate PASS-FAIL determination will be available, with the option to retest ($50 retest fee).
MROCC certification is already recognized by industry, hospitals, clinics and government agencies as the gold standard
for physicians who serve as Medical Review Officers through its Federally-approved MRO Certification program. Since
its inception in 1992, MROCC has certified over 9,000 physicians throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. And
MROCC continues its mission of promoting and preserving the highest level of competency within the drug-testing
arena with the MRO-A certification program.

CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) continues
its highly-successful credentialing program for Medical Review
Officer Assistants (non-physician staff members). This three-year
certification - awarded upon successful completion and passing of
the MROCC MRO-A online examination -- acknowledges competency
in those practical skills the MRO Assistant applies in fulfilling his or
her professional responsibilities within the workplace drug testing
arena. [MRO Assistant Definition] MRO Assistant Certification does
not constitute MRO Certification which is limited to physicians (MD or
DO) who meet requirements as set forth in DOT regulation 49 CFR
Part 40.

MROCC lists those individuals who
have had appropriate training and
have passed the MRO Assistant
Certification Examination.
Certification is valid for three
years, at which time MROA
recertification is required to
maintain certification status.
