INITIAL MRO CERTIFICATION APPLICATION
The MROCC examinations are based on 49 Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR Part 40). Effective October 1, 2010 -
years, at which time recertification is required to remain within DOT
compliance and in the directory of currently-certified MROs.
MROCC's Initial Certification Examination may be taken onsite
(following all ACOEM and ASAM MRO training courses) or online
(within 12 months of attending an MRO training course).
To apply for the initial certification examination, the physician must:
• have graduated from a medical school or school of osteopathic
medicine, and hold a current medical license (MD or DO) to practice
within the U.S., Its Territories or a Province of Canada, or a Country in
which the physician resides and practices.
• have attended, within the past 12 months, an MRO training course

MRO ASSISTANT (MROA) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
MROCC's MRO Assistant Certification program credentials qualified MRO Assistants (non-physician staff) through an
online certification examination. MRO Assistant certification is valid for a three-year period, at which time
recertification is required to remain in the directory of currently-certified MRO Assistants.
MRO RECERTIFICATION APPLICATION
FOR PHYSICIANS PREVIOUSLY CERTIFIED BY MROCC OR AAMRO
requirements and may be taken onsite (following all ACOEM and
ASAM MRO training courses) or online (with log off and log on
priviledges prior to submitting the exam for scoring).
To apply for the Recertification examination, the physician must:
• have prior or current MRO certification through MROCC or AAMRO
(if certification has lapsed you may register for the recertification exam)
• hold a current medical license (MD or DO) as with Initial
Certification
• have obtained a minimum of 12 CME* credit hours of relevant
MRO training within the past 12 months.
*The CME may be from appropriate distance learning opportunities
such as select CME activities offered by MROCC (more info), or from
onsite MRO training courses sponsored by ACOEM, ASAM or AAMRO.
